Can anyone help solve this problem?

Our water system was working perfectly, althogh it had quite low pressure. We recently replaced the shower head and hose (nothing else was changed).

The water temperature is fine without the new shower head (only new hose) in place. However, the minute the shower head is fixed on, hot water will not work if the cold water tap is on (even if slightly).

After turning on the cold water, the previoulsy 'hot' water from the hot tap becomes cold and remains freezing cold until the cold tap is turned off completely.

This allows only very cold or very hot water to be used............any ideas????? Cheers

You either have calcium, a build-up or some broke loose and is coming in contact with the tap as it runs. I would suggest taking the taps off, after of course turning the water supply off and see if you can clean them, maybe a good soaking with "The works" from your local Wal-Mart store. This will cut through the calcium right away and eat it off.

in case you will see that the place the "water saver" device is you could do away with it. it quite is mostly a white plastic tube contained in the steel bathe head you could regularly purely seize it with a pair of plyers and pull it out devoid of unfavorable the bathe head. I grew up in Florida and characteristic been doing this for years with the aid of fact the water regulations there are rather tight.
