Find the folder that Messenger is in (use Search if need be).

Change the name of the folder (maybe "MessengerNO").

That will break the link and it won't start on login anymore.

Follow these instructions as they will help you more then some of the advice that is being said here:
when you start your computer allow it to start as normal
window's messenger will load and start,

Now this is what you must do to stop MSN Messenger starting up:
make sure that Window's Messenger is open
click on tools
scroll down to options
click on preferences
make sure that the box beside the words:
"run windows messenger when windows starts" has no tick in it, if it has a tick in the box click it with your mouse to make the tick disappear,
then at the bottom click on "OK"
that's all you have to do easy,,,
the next time that you start your computer MSN Messenger will not open when windows start's,
to make the Window's Messenger start click on the "start Icon" bottom left cornor then click on the green figure where it say's Window's Messenger.

click start at bottom of page
find run then type msconfig in the box
click on start
find msn and un check the box
click apply and then restart your computer

bingo no more msn messenger
better still add me as a friend then you will want it to start so we can say hello

If your MSN is the newest one, just click that button with the triangle on the top right hand corner. A square box pops out and move your cursor to "Tools" anotehr box pops, then click "Options". Then the options section pops out and click "General on your left hand side. Then untick "Automatically run Windows Messenger etc.. when I log on.

Remove MSN from your startup

Start ==) Programs ==) Startup ==) rigth click on msn ==)delete

click onthe start at bottom select RUN(to execute dos commands) option (you can see a box appers) type msconfig in the box another windows opens with 6 tabs select the last one named startup and un check the box of msn and click apply and restart ur system.

if u are talking about msn messanger then
. open msn messanger
. go to tools / option
. from the opion menu click 'general' tab (see in the left side)
. uncheck the first option (which is ' automatically run msn.....)

Open MSN
Go to the tools menu and select Options
Go to the general tab and deselect the Automaticly run windows messenger when windows loggd in box.

go msn messenger ,open option,the General untick start MSN messenger when on computer.

when ur on msn go to setting and change atuo sign in, or unclick msn from windows startup settings
