Death Certificate is the record of the death of a person. The date, time, cause and other data about the death of a person is recorded on the death certificate.

It is just a legal document containing all the particulars of ones demise. Much like a birth certificate records when, where and how you entered this world, a death certificate documents when, where and how you left. A death certificate is needed by the family to settle legal issues, such as inheritance and insurance matters.
