Base, Emmitor and Collector are the three main componentys of a transistor.
There are two main types of transistors PNP and NPN. Both of these have the same three components.

As far as their name is concerned:
Emitter, Base, Collector for "normal" transistors,
Drain, Source and Gate for a Field Effect transistor.
As far as their building is concerned:
Substrate (the base), Emitter (small blob deposit), Collector (larger blob deposit), connecting wires.
As far as the material used is concerned:
Silicium, Selenium, Arsenide and other impurities for the active components, gold (usually) for the wiring, plastic (or metal) for the casing, plus a filler inside.
