Or should women just listen to her and live in fear of something that might not happen to them anyway? If women are afraid every guy they meet is insane, how are they ever going to find any kind of happiness? Instead of being in a relationship, the guy will have to prove over and over again that he's not like that. What kind of life is that?

I'm not saying to jump into anything. All I'm saying is don't live in fear of something, or you're not really living.

um, I think she's trying to communicate a good message (to be careful) in the wrong way. I mean hell, every two minutes someone is raped, but is that reason for women to treat every man they meet and know with fear? UM, NO! I just skimmed over the site, it was too damn negative for my taste. She sounds very hurt, bitter, and like she's unable to come to grips with her past. Unfortunate, but not uncommon. So no, I don't think women should listen to her. Women have enough to be worried about without other people adding unnecessary worry to the load (by that I mean, worries about rape, murder, assault, etc, because those fears are much more REAL for women than for men).

It sounds like to me that he wasn't necessarily a sociopath, he was a straight up crook and she should watch out next time. To let a con man get that close to her means she might have been vulnerable and a little eager for a relationship and is why she missed the cues telling her things just don't add up. She shouldn't jump right in next time as the person who originally asks this question suggested. She should be cautious but polite or else she will wined up with another loser or player.

The problem arises from the fact that women want to OWN, and men want to work out a rental agreement, or just crash for a few days.
Are renters more evil than owners?
I'm a man, but I guess if I could find a woman who was going to support me the rest of my life, I would try to own her; and I would feel cheated if she wiggled off the hook.

Exactly! I tell girls that every day. I have had my fair share of bad BFs but I still go out there and live my life. I'm not as naive as I once was though so I don't believe all I hear
