The communication revolution makes it easier to hide the truth by burying it in lies. Despite easier access, we obtain our information from fewer sources. News agency are merging and investigative news pieces are being cut back, due to cost. If you look for something in the internet, you sometimes get an avalanche.

because most people find it uncomfortable to address their own ignorance, to do so admits past mistakes. Its easier to turn a blind eye and the ubixutious state of denial than it is to grow and address ones illogical fears; to admit that ones past views (treatment of others ect.) are wrong. Its human nature, to gain power over others and not have an exploitable weakness. To admit past mistakes is to admit a weakness.
