The advantages, obviously, are that new and wonderful opportunities can come from the minds of idealistic people: democracy (some would say), equality, and love. The disadvantages are simply I would say is the lack of productiveness, idealistic thinking, is just and only thinking, its not entirely practical. Thinking about a better way to repair a bone, is not actually repairing one now.
