When I had my knee Surgically repaired using my own patellar tendon from the same knee, it seemingly fixed the tendonitis problem in that knee... If I had had the tendon removed from the other knee, would I have had that problem fixed too? How much did your surgery cost and how are you doing now?

An ACL tear is more serious than just tendonitis. Tendonitis is just inflammation of a tendon. The anterior Cruciate Ligament is a major ligament in stabilizing the knee joint.
I've had a torn ACL for about 15 years and my surgeon told me that if it doesn't bother me then there's no need to fix it.
