I have green/hazel eyes.. fair skin and blondish/ brown hair.. But it always seems like no matter what color I apply to my eyes, it never seems to show!? I apply cover up to all areas of my face, even my eyes.. Is there a certian brand of eye shadow that shows up better? thanks!

the applicator I use it the one that comes with the eye shadow I buy.. I have only used a small brush once and it seemed to "flake" the eye shadow.

Your main problem as to why your eye-shadow does not show is your application. If you are using the sponge applicators that comes with the eyeshadow you should know they generally just absorb the color into the sponge and leave little on your actual eyes. So I recommend buying just one good brush from MAC or Bobbi Brown, this will give you a little bit more color. (Remember when using a brush to apply always dust off the excess by tapping the end before applying it to your eyes end so it doesn't go on flaky.)
Secondly make sure the colors you are applying are deep enough to show up. It sounds like you and I have the same features, so what I have learned is that anything with gold undertones will not show up on our skin. When using browns make sure they are deeper, use this rule for all the other colors as well.
But to get the ultimate result of that high impact lasting color you want you will have to buy more expensive make-up like Stila, MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc, you do end up paying more but you do not use as much so they last longer, you get a free consultation on how to apply the make-up and the end result is that you look great!!!!!!!!

The reason pharmacy brands like Maybelline, Loreal has cheap eye shadows is because they have very low colour pigmentation.
Try brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown, the colour is much stronger. The price is slightly higher, but they have many more different shades and since the colour comes out well, you don't have to keep applying like 5 inch thick of it.
Also, use a sponge tip to apply the colour first, then use a brush to blend.

high end products such as MAC or Nars tend to work far better than drug store eyeshadows. but they usually cost a great deal more.
if you don't feel like splurging on make up, i'd suggest picking up a base. Urban Decay Primer Potion works magically. i believe it's about 13 bucks, but it's worth it because it lasts a really long time and makes drugstore eyeshadows much more vibrant.
also, imo, the best pigmented drugstore eyeshadow brands are nyx (definitely a fave of mine), and milani.
good luck!

Try Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyes. I have a problem with my eye colors creasing and I've found this works for me. It's a neutral tone and it blends and drys to a matte finish. It's helped my eye colors stay put for 10 hours.
Give it a try

Here are my two cents. These two cents are based on watching my mother cut hair and apply makeup to women in the neighborhood who sought her expertise. I have memories of my mother participating in cosmetologist competitions in San Francisco and doing really well. The thing I picked up from her is that makeup should be subtle. It should highlight without drawing attention to itself.

use brands like MAC
brands like maybelline and loreal have low costs because the colours are not strong.
