I just wanted to know if it is normal for your legs to have a popping feeling in them after your cool down and stretching?

The tendons in your legs are responding to the stretching of them from the use of your muscles

even though you are "just walking", you should warm up first, with a brisk walk or stationary bike or jump rope, then do your walk. That is what the doc told me.

Yes. Your muscles are probably just not used to it.
