At the stroke of midnight on August 14-15, 1947, more than two centuries of British colonial rule over the vast subcontinent came to an end.
Pakistan regards its independence as beginning on the 14th; India recognizes the 15th as its independece day. Actually, BOTH countries achieved their independence at the precise same second--the stroke of midnight.

Its simple if you know the history of that period. India,west pakistan and east pakistan had been rulled by british for many years.They decided to leave this subcontinental and made them free.According to culture and religion the politician of this territory had decided to make two independend country. Pakistan and great India did get place in the world map as independent state. lots of factors were involved to get that freedom from the british.That's the reason , India get independence on 15th and pakistan as on 14 august 1947 .

There is a difference of one day or hours because in Pakistan the freedom was declared one day or hours before it was declared in India.

They had to take the train.... and you reckon, a trip from the capital of India to the capital of Pakistan... that's not done in a few hours.
Remember, at that time, plains weren't a common mean of transportation yet.

Time difference my dear- Time difference
There is a time difference of 30 minutes in India and Pakistan.
IST = (GMT+5.30) while PST = (GMT+5.00)
SO, When we were Independent at the stroke of Midnight Coming to 15th August, It was 11:30 PM in Pakistan.
SO they are celebrating it on 14th and we on 15th.
REALLY INTERESTING.

when we had throw someone out-we did.They ran real fast and
celebrated it on 14 th.
We are sitting here only na..........
so,casually,we have done it on 15 th.
for example--when you go to a marriage those who have to travel far pack up early and hurry.....while those staying back do not bother.We did similarly......rather our grand fathers.
