I think everyone has felt this before.

I feel like giving up quite often. I've lived with this feeling on and off for as long as I can remember. I ask myself "What is the point to it all?"

Despite that i go on cuz, like shadow said: "This too shall pass." There is an undeniable truth to that statement. these feelings and circumstances change. Life is a continuous change.

I go on cuz despite how futile it all feels sometimes, ultimately it is worth it to go on......there is pain in life but yet there is much beauty too. No life will not have a mixture of both.

When I get down I try to be in nature. If you can, go outside and feel the sun or look at the stars.....it puts things in perspective. I also write down what I'm feeling and read it, this gives an outside perspective. The thing that seems so big and terrible now will hardly be anything 5 years from now.

I've found that life really doesn't have a meaning but it doesn't have to be meaningless and depressing. We can give our own meaning to it....we can create something...we can find something that interests us...we can meditate.......there are a million things in life to spark our interest...it just means finding waht they are.

Sometimes giving something up is good. If the pain is so great, give it up. Just surrender to it. Sit down and breathe and feel it with compassion for yourself. Often times the thing we're resisting and fighting isn't what we thought it was. When it is faced, it loses some of it's power. We can ask and explore ourselves.

Also, sometimes we try to live other people's dreams or ideas of what they want....when you start to create and find the things you love doing you give life meaning and a quiet joy follows....

Hope this helps.

Best of luck to you.

(this too shall pass....)

I go on because my kids would be so wounded if I didn't. (And it would be a terrible example to them, also.) Finding someone to talk to and express your emotions to, helps a lot. I don't believe most people need psychiatrists. (Maybe no-one does but it will take more clarity than we yet have, to help some people)
All the best, many people have been where you are at present and recovered very well.Keep your chin up, as they say.
Plato reckoned that if we are depressed it's because we are not living right. Considering that depression is very much on the increase, I can believe that's true. How many people feel that they have full control over their lives and are doing what they really want to?
Remember to be kind to yourself and don't criticise yourself (or anyone else!) Be as kind to you as you would be to a little 3 year old child. Lots of love and understanding. If you make a mistake say to yourself "Never mind, try again". Hugs.

Oh yes, I know this well, but I go on.

What makes me go on? The logical thought that giving up is the last thing I will ever do, so that *everything* else needs to be tried first.
Add to that a conviction of duty, mainly to others, and the sheer force of habit.

There's still a few things I haven't tried, and I'm trying something new this year: a total change of environment and career. It may not work, but I can always give up *tomorrow*.

Everyone goes through those feeling of being worthless and wanting to give up.
I always think back, 1959, to when my brother died.
There was still music on the radio, there was still traffic on the street in front of the house, Mom and Dad were still drinking coffee and supper was on the stove.
I came to the conclusion then that even in death, life goes on.
Since we know that to be true then there must be a purpose and reason.
I may not know what that purpose is or the reason why, but I also will go on.

If you are dealing something that you can't quit. Mentally I recommend you to accept it. Do not think about does it make sense or is it fair? Bad emotion will hurt you twice.

Very often we encounter a situation that can not be solved right now. Accept it will be the best answer for now. Stay calm and all conditions will change little by little as time goes by. I heard people said this to me as your reference.

face it, accept it, deal with it, let go of it.

If you have a religion, praying will be a great help.

hopefully it works for you.
