What collection? A person attempting to amass a collection of all world-wide stamps with pictures of animals on them would have a daunting task, and had better have almost unlimited resources. It would be an enormous collection.

You really do need to specialize in stamp collecting these days, since stamps have been used world-wide for so very long, and in such incredible variety. Try stamps with animals just from your own country first, or maybe world-wide stamps with your favorite animal on them, and then see where your interests take you from there. Perhaps you will stick to the modern, very photographically detailed stamps. Then you come across a rather common older stamp which used different printing techniques. Next thing you know, you are looking at old stamps in the same sequence as that rather common one, including those which are not common at all.

Follow your nose, but keep an eye on the values and try to buy the bargains. You will leave a wonderful legacy for your grandchildren if you take stamp collecting seriously.

I have been collecting stamps for ten years and I would suggest that you start looking at Mystic stamp company, and Jamestown stamp company. They have nice collections and also have a system were they send you stamps monthly from the catergories that you select for you to view before you purchase. Hope this helps Happy Collecting!
