Got to keep costs down. However, must be double time, as a minimum.

I know a pub that only pays one dollar an hour more on any weekend or public holiday. Chances of them getting double time are zilch.

I work at a movie theater, and we get time and a half... Or actually since I'm a "lead" I get a $50 bonus plus my regular pay, which kindda sux, cuz i could work 1 hour or 10 hours, and i still only get that 50, nothing extra...

Someone else mentioned triple time???? I'd love to know where you work!!

Employers are not obliged to pay extra for bank holidays, this is a wide spread misunderstanding, like th eone that everyone is entitled to have the day off on a bank holiday. The pay rates are set by the employer.if you need any further advice, drop me a mail shaun@sdhinternet.co.uk

Yeah, my place pays a "premium shift" allowance for Xmas eve night and NY eve night, but can technically get us to work Xmas day and NY day for normal rate.
Lucky the boss isn't an *** and just doesn't open.

They should have had too by law.,as it is a bank holiday. XMAS EVE AND NEW YEAR EVE ARE NOT.The employers get away with murder then!Better to sort deal out with them before you turn up!!!

shouldn,t it have been triple time...every christmas i have worked i got triple time
