you see the check marks on the left of the name of the song??

yeahhhh uncheck it if you dont want it on your ipod

Yes.

Connect your iPod to the computer.

iTunes will automatically come up.

Click the iPod icon.... there should be two icons, one on the left and a tiny grey one near the bottom, click each and see which one gives you a huge window of iPod settings.

These iPod settings will include stuff like Music, Photos, etc. Click on Music.

Your iPod is set to "Automatic." You want "Manual." Choose Manual.

Doing this will turn your iPod into an external harddrive. All this really means is that if you disconnect your iPod without clicking "Eject" first, your computer will yell at you.

Once you've done this, the only way your iPod will get songs is if YOU drag the songs from your iTunes library into the iPod icon that's displayed at the side of iTunes. The only way to remove them from the iPod is by doing it manually.
