People still discuss the Blair Witch Project???? The truth of it is that it WAS acting--we studied the film in class when I was finishing my degree in Television Production. One of my professors actually did a live Q & A with some of the film crew and producers via computer in class. It was based on a legend in that area--mythical figure of a witch--who was probably just a semi-successful midwife in reality.
Still scared the pants off me at the time. I've never watched the film again. I still have flash-backs of the final scary scene with all the creepy hand prints, the kid standing in the corner, and the girl screaming her head off. Very well done and chilling.

Is this a trick question.
The TRUTH is that they sent a bunch of IMPROVE based actors into the woods who couldn't work a camera or nothing and they basically made up the whole thing as they went along. I believe there was a crew that went in with them, but stayed out of sight. I still think the acting was weak, but they WERE imitating college kids, right? Blah. No it's not real. There was a witch around the town I think. But the whole story made up? I had more to say but I'm tired.

based on real person as the historical blair witch, but after that, it was all a bunch of crap and it was lousy acting but they made a few bucks considering the actors were also the film crew in the first one.

Um..... neither. Best acting come on, it's not exactly Brando is it? It's a few dumb kids running around the forest with bad camera's, it is unbelievable what cheap bit of drama entertains some.

I think it was real! I still watch the movie once in a while! (yes, I'll admit it ----I own it!) Ever time I watch it I still get chills! I think it is a very good movie!
