You don’t want to add laundry beach that has ingredients in it that may be incompatible with your pool plaster or equipment

“BLEACH: This term usually refers to liquid chlorine. It is the same chemical used in the home, but pool chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) has 12% - 15% available chlorine while laundry bleach only has about 5% available chlorine.”

I don’t know where you are buying your pool supplies but Leslies Pool Supplies are among the least expensive of all pool supply companies. They are spread out all of the Untied States. Pool chlorine should cost less then the comparable amount of chlorine bleach. I have a spa that I maintain. I use liquid chlorine in the past but lately I have been using a dry chorine which has more available chlorine and has a chlorine conditioner included that makes the chlorine last longer. In the end, dry chlorine is less expensive. I suggest going to a local reputable pool supply company and ask the specialists. If they are knowledgeable they will tell you the best and most cost effective way of maintaining and chlorinating your pool.

Also in the colder months your pool will require less acid, chlorine and all chemicals. The colder temperature combined with less swimmer waste means less chemicals.

Usually household bleach is weaker in strength than the stuff you buy for pools....home depot chlorine is usually about 10% chlorine and household bleach is 6%....
