I tried turning on and off the power switches/ leaving the ac battery plugged in and kept the laptop off/plugging the laptop in different jacks/and taking the plug in and out of the laptop.
Do I need a new plug cause the battery icon does not flash when I have it plugged in!

Call the company Sony, there might ba a battery recall or email them and tell them the problems that you are having and ask them where should you bring in to fix it, they might have a Sony dealer where you are to fix your laptop

jus remove all the external devices from your laptop .and remove the battery of your laptop . press d power button for 10 to 30 secs . then reseat the battery in the laptop , and connect the adapter and restart the laptop .
