i cant decide which to get. i hear psp is better from some people then i hear its overrated and ds is better from others, so i cant decide which one to get.

The PSP is much more versatile than the DS. I have one (PSP), and I love it. In my opinion it has many great games. But beyond the games, you can use it just like you would a computer - picture/file storing, wireless internet, and much more. Plus, if you have a friend that has a PSP, you can play multiplayer wirelessly. The PSP automatically detects the other PSP(s) around it. In my opinion, the PSP dramatically outdoes the DS in functionality.
If you're planning to use it solely for gaming, and don't want any extra capabilities, it really depends on your tastes. If you prefer Nintendo-style games, get the DS. If you prefer Playstation-type games, get the PSP.

DS you get more games and better ones. I have both and the DS gets more play.

psp has everytihing a computer has and more...only that its limited by its memory card and the screen is hypersensitive to scratches, tho you can buy a cover for the screen.
