The processor should be fine. How much ram does it have? A "good" gaming computer should have 1-2gb's of RAM.

How fast is the Hard Drive? How much cache does it have? you would want a HD with a spin speed of 7200 RPM's, and a cache of 8mb.

What type of "nvidia" card? If it's anything below a 7600GS then no...... If it's an Intergrated video card, then no. If it shares memory then no.

For a "good" gaming computer you want nothing below a 7600GS card.....

It's ok but companies like Compaq rarely build their systems to stand up to true gaming rigs, like Alienware and Falcon Technologies. Check out Dell's XPS systems which typically have decent benchmark scores. Go to http://www.maximumpc.com to read gaming rig reviews.

It could be, but then that's not enough info to really know what kind of system you have. It would help to know the processor speed and how many mb of video the graphics are capable of.

Well... it wont be as good as Top model systems but as long as your not trying to run multi screen programs.. like a game plus third party software you will be fine. 512 ram should be upgraded however you wont have any problem running any games without it, as long as that is all you are running. if you were going to run programs like roger wilco or icq you will definatly want to upgrade to at least 1 gb of ram

It sounds alright but not 'really good'.
We'd need to know a lot more of the specs to comment properly.
Compaq is not a company which is trying to build 'really good' gaming machines so it's unlikely.

If you want us to answer your question, please tell us:
1) Your graphic/video card (f. e. GeForce or smthg)
2) How fast is your hard drive?
3) How much RAM memory do you have?

It is ok but for gaming you really need 1gb of ram, but if that was upgraded it would be ok
