if she wants blonde hair and your ok with it try using one of those wash out hair dyes at first to see if she likes it. But for her hair strait you may not want to do a straitener cuz even at a salon it can dry your hair out bad ! Just get her a straitening iron or a blow dryer with straitening spray. thats how I strainten mine. frizz ease straining spray and a blow dryer it works great !

Though I know a lot of people will probably disagree... I started dying my hair when I was 13. However I was blonde and wanted it a little bit darker. That is a pretty drastic change. See if you could get her to compromise for a few highlights or something less noticeable at first....
Oh also.. my sister buys straightner - relaxer for her hair. It looks pretty good! You can leave it on for a long time or just a little while depending on how curly/ straight you want it.

Buy her a straightner and explain to her that going blonde on dark brown hair wont come out how she wants it to and will damage her hair for a long time
Find her a lady with regrowth that used to have brown hair and dyed it blonde
that should change her mind! lol
and for all the answers that said get a temporary hair dye (rinse out one) they don't blonde brown hair unless they are a permanent colourer tried it a hundred times and the result never changes

So, you may be her mother but she is old enough. I had my hair done at 13 and my hair is fine, I had dark brown curly hair and I didn't like it, I hate brown hair on me. My mom liked my hair the way it was but it is my hair. The fact that you won't let her get hair done because you like the way her hair looks is selfish. I'm 15 now my hair is dark red.

She is at an age when she wants change. I am the same age. I would let her have her wish. It is her hair and I think that she should have control over it. But before you do anything, Tell your daughter your feelings twards getting blonde straight hair. Good luck.

I think you should let her straighten it and maybe let her have highlights but don't change her hair color! that's going way extreme for a 14 year old! And don't let her get it permanently straightened-just buy her a nice straightening iron and she can straighten it when she wants and wear it curly sometimes too. Then she can have 2 different styles whenever she wants with highlights! Good luck!

in response to those saying it will damage her hair. not necessarily. i started coloring my hair at 15 (13 years ago). it has been every color imaginable, and for a few years it was a different color every month. everytime, i go get a haircut, the hairdressers always comment on how healthy and soft my hair is.
maybe you could compromise. let her play around with temporary dyes. treatments you buy at like walmart come in three levels. level 1 is like a week and it washes out. level 2 is something like 3 weeks. level 3 is permanent.

compromise and get her hair straightened, explain that straightened and bleached hair can get very damaged. if done at the same time and she probably wants to keep it straight!
bleached and straightened hair can break and it becomes brittle it takes a lot of care and i know at 14 i couldnt be bothered with all that!
buy her hair straighteners and encourage her to look after it and keep it in good condition and youll reconsider the blonde style if she manages to .
it could just be a phase but if shes sure shell prove it!!
