I just got it and it transfered all my songs on to my nano how do I delete them off it and transfer more into it??

You iPod is probably set to update automatically, so it syncs everything you have checked in iTunes as soon as you connect the iPod. So in order to delete the songs you don't want you need to unchecked them in iTunes and then connect the iPod and it will delete those you have unchecked.

You should delete the songs from your iTunes library and import new songs and then transfer.
