another vote for bleach!

your question is to broad... what kind of story do you like?
but here are my suggestions:
- if you like difficult plot and stories, with conspiracy and mysteries, then i suggest Urasawa Naoki's Monster (18 tankoubon) or 20th Century Boys (ongoing in Japan) ... or Death Note
- if you like fight scenes but not too gory, with magic and superficial power, Naruto or Bleach could be for you. But both have long plot... or X by CLAMP if you like darker stories. Tokyo Babylon is also 2 thumbs up, although the graphic isn't as good as Tsubasa Chronicles and other CLAMP later manga.
- if you like angsty but yet funny shoujo/girl manga, try Fruit Basket, Count Cain, Yami no Matsuei
- if you like stories about daily activities, you should try Emiko Yachi's Sabath Cafe or Narita Minako's Cipher, Alexandrite, or Natural. (these are my top-4 manga, but they aren't popular)

What kinds are you looking for? Merru Puri (sorry if it's misspelled) is pretty good, it's fantasy, without all that nudity and whatnot.
Another good one is Mermaid Saga, it's pretty dark and at times gory. But still pretty.
Another good one is Maison Ikkoku (sorry if it's spelled wrong) anyhow it's about this guy who is in love with his landlord, very funny and cute.
My absolute favorite is Mars, it's about a girl and a guy it's a drama and is very dark and racy at times but I love it!

Ninja Scroll is good. Or theres Akira, also a good one. And berserker is a good series.
