It's not really a huge deal....but it kinda bugs me.
My real name is Andrew (no it's not Greg) and like my whole family calls me "Andy".
But I like this girl at my work...and she calls me "Drew" (because my whole work calls me Drew)
So I'm wondering, if I bring her home and have her meet my family...how can I solve the Andy/Drew dilemma?

Hi Andrew,
I would say that it IS a BIG DEAL because, as you say, it "kinda bugs" you. If something bothers you, the issue is important and must be solved.
Personally, this issue that you are having can be solved easily. Before you bring her home, you can inform her that your family call you "Andy" and then, tell her the name you want her to call you... Actually, you should tell this to her as soon as possible.
Tell people the name you want to be called, and that will fix your problem.
You can tell your family beforehand that your coworker will call you "Drew" in their presence and explain to them the reasons (as you did here).
Or, you can ask your coworker to call you Andy, like your family and explain to her why you would rather her call you this.
Personally, I do not see the "dilemma" with your family calling you Andy, while she calls you Drew when they meet... You can even make a joke about it!

A guy I dated had that same issue. His name is Nathaniel and I (along with people that we worked with) would call him Nate while his family would call him Nat. It never was a real issue in my opinion. Your family will probably always call you Andy and she will probably call you Drew. As long as it doesn't bother you, it shouldn't matter.

What do u like best, Andy or Drew? (I prefer Andy if u ask me but u dont so lets move on).... Tell your family/her how YOU want them to call u... It's YOUR name anyway.... And YOU might want them to call YOU "potato" for example.... So support your mind...

just be very upfront with her...if you prefer to be called "Andy" I would tell her....just say people at work started calling you "Drew"...but you really don't like it that well....then I'd tell her your family calls you Andy...and you like that better...she won't be offended

just tell ur family that u r being called by this name at ur work place.
it hapened to me also ...my close ones call me with 6 different names in the beginning it was a bit awkwatrd but now i m comfortable with it ...just love ur name that's it!!!!!

If it bugs you ask them to call you what you prefer.
Otherwise explain what you've told us & request she call you what you prefer.
If "Andy" is what people close to you call you & you want her to call you "Andy" then just tell her those close to you call you that.
It should make her feel special. :o)

tell her its a nic name i have friend who name is david but his friends call him harry and his girl friend asked 6 months after they had being going out why we called him david and we are like its his name and harry is his nic name
