Eventually, when it becomes extinct. Which sadly might be the result of some of our so called advancements.

A lot of people throughout history have said nothing new can be new can be invented and everything that ever happened has happened. Each time they were wrong. With 1600 new patents every year, I think advancement isn't slowing down at all. I think people need to prepare for a very technological future where technology could be used as a double-edged sword and people must keep in touch with technology if they are going to adapt and prosper.

part of humanity and all civilization is the advancment in technology to help make our daily lives either. Until we have maxed out and got all the use of all the resources in this world we will not advancing.
i have no idea if that made sense together like that, but i think u get the point.

All you need to do is pick up a copy of the Scientific American and it will blow your mind away. I'm mostly interested in theoretical physics, but there are advances and theories in everyfield that will keep scientists busy with new discoveries for the next 100 years! What beyond then???? Who knows? It's difficult to predict the future. We might have bio-mechanical implants, computers in our brains that can help us compute and retain knowledge like never before, interstellar travel, colonization of other planets, the manipulation of the fabric of existance... I could go on forever. Yes there is still much to discover, much to learn... but, another answerer has a good point, we humans are shortsighted and tend to pollute our world and kill one another and may never make it far enough to make the discoveries that are possible.

The only alternatives to at least attempting to advance are stagnation or decline.
Why does it seem to you like the "human world" can't go any further? The achievements in recent history probably weren't even fathomed in the not too distant past, so you're inability to envision what progress may occur before it happens doesn't mean that there is no progress left to be achieved.

We can never advance beyond what the creator knows.
There are so many things that we have yet to discover.
Space is still pretty much a mystery. Also are the depths of the ocean, and then there is the center of the earth
We actually might be times when humans digress because we Will of abused the earth.....lose our fuel, bomb our resources. Breakdown communications. Blow up entire continents and a handful of us might just have to restart in the rubble.

In my opinion it thinks it's impossible to ever stop advancing. Everyday our minds grow and imaginations expand. Like we have improved on what the generation before us created, the next generation will improve on what we have created. It will be a never ending cycle. Technology is one of the most awesome things. Look how much it has gone from sending a man to the moon, to sending a probe to Mars. Our world is ever evolving, and we are evolving right along with it. It's just one of those things that make you say, "WOW!"

It is uncertain whether the human world is ever advancing. We race against ever mutating strains of resistant and virulent microorganisms. Past advances in biomedical sciences in terms of conquering these microorganisms only means we are in teeter-totter arms race always. As we advance in technological/scientific aspects of "progress", we surely do not progress in terms of nature and resource preservation.
As the world gets seemingly smaller through easy travel, there is a closer threat that looms because of it. With every, progress, there is seemingly a pandora's box of troubles.
The "advancement" may be a direction unknown, whether good or ill, for all of us. I do not think it evil or good. The human condition is just how it's been and will continue.
