I'm scared to death that I'll drop my iPod and it will break beyond hopes of repair from a 5-foot drop onto hard pavement.

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who has dropped their iPod, and broken it in some way.

I have no idea how resilient these things are.

i had an old verison of an ipod, and it split in half..but i put it back and it still worked, but i kept droping it cause it was slippery, so it just stoped working, and i went to bestbuy and they said that it was a ipod abuse, so they couldent do anything about it
i had a video ipod, i droped that a few times, but it didnt break, i god stolen cause i was stupid.
but now i have a zune,
my suggestion, for your ipod is to buy a silicone cover because the sillicone has grip on it so you wont drop it.
with out a cover or anything, i know the ipod is VERY slippery

Well I was working out with my mini and I did something and it flipped about 3 times in the air before slamming into the machine next to me and it worked fine after. They are pretty resiliant I think.

Be careful, iPod is so fragile if you drop it you will break it and then you can't repair. I suggest you purchase neon skins or any case to protect it.

I once dropped my 30GB iPod down a flight of stairs and it was fine. Scratched, but that was a year ago and it still works perfectly.

those dam things are sturdy and resilient, I've dropped mine several times hell even on pavement, at first i freaked out too, but bedside's some ugly noticeable scratches you shouldn't have any trouble unless you drop it with force.

DO NOT DROP IT, IT WILL BREAK

especially if it lands on one of its corners
