It all depends on if they are qualified and get enough votes.

Considering a woman and an african american are both running in the Democrat party, I would have to say I hope they do not win, simply because of their politics

If a black person or a woman was running as a Republican, I would be hoping that they would win. Its all politics, having nothing to do with gender or race

Honestly, no.... at least not Obama or Hillary. Hillary is too polarizing. You either hate her or love her. If you love her, it is probably because of Bill Clinton. Obama just came out of nowhere. All of a sudden it was Obama this and Obama that. What has he done in the Senate that would qualify him as President? Until the whole WMD blew up in his face, Colin Powell could have been a contender. However, I don't think they will get the support to be elected. Maybe I'm wrong. I guess we'll see in 2008.

There is a strong possibility that Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, or Barack Obama will be the 2008 Democratic Presidential candidate, and an equally strong possibility that the Democrats will win the election.

That's really not a valid question at all. Will blacks vote for a black candidate that that they cannot identify with one iota? The most likeliest black candidate is Obama. I have nothing against him one bit, in fact I would consider voting for him, but do I believe that blacks can identify with him? Nah. He's so far removed from the problems that many middle class/lower income blacks face or have faced that he will have a tough time getting their votes.

As far as a woman, all we have is Hilary Clinton. The jury is still out on how women will react to her or the nation for that matter.

So if a black person doesn't get elected, don't blame white people. And if a woman doesn't get elected, don't blame men. It's a very complicated issue.

No. And that's what might be the downfall of the Democratic party. To get enough support we need a credible white guy.

We need cross over votes too.

Hillary is a major problem. Not all Democrats support her ...including me. Obama wont carry the southern states.

If obama runs, Hillary can kiss her chance goodbye. Therefore I believe that we will have an african-american president first.

As for Obama ,according to the article I linked ,it states that many black Americans don't relate to him. Obama is more the darling of the media and white liberals.

If they think he or she is the right person to lead the country, sure. Otherwise it'll be just another white man, and we're going to have to live with that.
