I'm considering an all black college because it's the only one that has a recording program in my state. I'm not racist or anything, I'm just a typical white, middle class 19-year old. However, I'm kind of wondering if it would be a bad idea for me to go because I don't want them to feel like I'm intruding, or disrespecting the all-black tradition (there are only 4% whites that attend). What do you think?

It would probably depend on how confident you are. If you can look past your differences, chances are so will most of the people at the college. If you think you'd feel sef-contious of your skin color, then chances are you'd be miserable and feel like you're intruding.

I would say if you're confident enough go for it!

not at all, that's the issue with people not researching about hbcu's. It's not a black only club it's just that sometimes blacks needed a little help trying to get places. Besides you may get a scholarship for being a minority

well if its supposed to be for only blacks then no, cuz in hawaii theres a school only for hawaiians which is not racist but thats the way it is. but other than that you should, getting to kno people other than your own race can only benifit you. also if its what you want and its your future then take advantage of it.

If it has the course you want, and has good credentials-go! There is no reason not to.
