Yes, you are in the position to hurt them in ways that no one else can. It can happen easily and without intention.

I t is easiest to hurt those you love and easier to be hurt by them. Now this most times is not to intentionally hurt them but alot of times just things you do that are say not safe, not a good choice for you etc those we love and who love us only want the best for us. If we are jeopardizing our health, or safety or physical or mental well being or they are doing this then it will hurt. If I get into an argument with one of my children it is more hurtful to me than anyone Else i could argue with Family members are those we care, love and respect the most therefore if we argue or just feel neglected by them it would hurt much more than with say a stranger. Really good friends fall into this to as we usually have some type of love feelings for our best friends. I think it's easier to hurt the ones you love, because they love you their hearts are wide open. They don't have any guards up, so what ever you throw at them hits .. dead center. Good question.

Yes they say it is true because you feel a closeness with them and so you tend to lash out at them even if you don't mean it
