Just out of curiousity I was wondering what has been by far the worst thing to happen to you while being a Teacher?

The worst experience I ever had was when I was attacked by one of my students. I prosecuted him to the fullest extent of the law but it removed me from the classroom for several months as the legal system took its course.

Working as an English teacher at different companies in Italy, I was frequently expected to start work at 8:00 am and finish at 9:00 pm, with erratic scheduling breaks in the middle of the day (never around lunch, when restaurants were actually open). As I was going from company to company I would spend up to four hours per day on a bus, and I wasn't paid for that time. Some days I spent up to nine hours TEACHING, plus four hours traveling, plus prep time. I had no life!

i'm not a teacher but a student. i've heard some messed up stories. like a teacher was overweight and she was constantly made fun of by her students and was called fatass. i've also seen teachers break down right in class. it just seems that those teachers have no authority in their classrooms and let the students get away with too much and that's why the students don't listen.

I had many problems with the principal because a fellow teacher kept complaining about me. She said that I wasn't a good teacher because her daughter was doing poorly in my class. I was about to get fired, but somehow managed to stay there for another school year. It turns out that this girl had a neurological problem and it was not my fault she didn't learn anything, she had to leave because she kept failing.

The worst experience is having a parent (who thinks they know your subject) try to tell you how to teach your class and what material to include or omit.

being roughed up by big 20 yr old male autistic students...2 back injuries in 3 years...no more work for me. i did love the job, it was just very unpredictable from minute-to-minute, and our classroom was super small...with 10 students ages 10-22.

My buddy swore that a 15 year old, really filled out and hot girl in his class was hitting on him. He was afraid that he would lose control and go to jail.

A Barf-A-Thon. Seriously. I had a student who threw up in class (5th Grade). One of the kids got grossed out almost immediately and knew he was going to throw up too. He got up to run to the sink and throw up, but he didn't make it. He threw up on a kid, who then threw up on the jacket of the girl next to him. She then threw up all over her desk. At that point I just yelled out "OK! Everybody OUT OF THE ROOM!" The smell was horrifying, and I knew that if we stayed in the room I'd lose it too. Outside, in the freash air, the puke-o-mania stopped.
