I hear alot of people say to stop the war. I hear them say we have no business in Iraq, Iran, or anywhere. I don't think we know the details or reason's governments make decisions to go to war, but I'll bet it's nothing more than a domestic battle between countries. Bottom line is, if it doesn't stop it'll never end.

So, expecially the youth here . . . let's get some ideas going about stopping violence and restoring the relationship between countries. I don't want to hear political opinion, or contraversy of who's at fault. The healing won't start till the adversity is diminshed.

We won't change the world, but let's see if we can change ourselves. Be sure to read the answers. If you like it, grade it.

Ted Turner spent mega-bucks on this same questions. Over 10K manuscripts were turned in and every one had a fault that could not be ignored.

I think we need to start with our home first and formost. What are we doing to make ourself less violent and our family?

Also... and this is the only true answer that can't be ignored: Jesus called His followers to be peacemakers, and those of us who are Christians should do whatever we can to live in peace. The Bible says, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone" (Romans 12:18).

Unfortunately, history tells us that religions haven't always stood for peace or brotherhood, nor do they today. Even the Christian church has sometimes forgotten Jesus' warning to Peter that "all who draw the sword will die by the sword" (Matthew 26:52). I am not a pacifist, and I believe nations and peoples have a right to defend themselves from aggression. But God's work is advanced by the power of love, not the power of hate.

Have you ever asked yourself, however, why there are so many wars in the world? Why can't we seem to get along? It isn't just a question of poverty or social injustice or any of the other causes that are often mentioned (including religion). The Bible says there is a deeper problem—and that is the problem of the human heart. The wars in our world are but a mirror of the greed and hatred that war in our hearts.

This is why we need Christ, for only He can change our hearts and give us love for others. Has this happened to you? Even in a world of turmoil and conflict, we can have peace in our hearts when we know Christ.

Civilization would be positioned decrease back 500 years and darkness will conceal our large society. Our usa is rather on the ingredient of crumple and it does no longer take lots to reason those issues to happen..thats what I envision because of the fact usa has no subculture and no want for God so why ought to something or all people care?

I think it's pretty clear we can maybe stop a war, but war in general is no more likely to be stopped than murder, lying, cheating, adultry, etc. I believe we have a right to defend our selves, if not we would have lost WWII and your question would have been in German. Even in schoolyards have you ever seen a bully stop because everyone submitted to his bullying. I have not. Seems you answer your ? when you say "change ourselves" and best of luck with that. But I do see no alternative.

Obviously, there is no simple answer to this question. There are many causes of war.

This does not mean we mustn't try to end wars and to prevent wars. We can work to eradicate poverty and injustice, which will go a long way in preventing conflict. We must learn to reach out and talk to, and listen to, those with whom we have differences. Hostile language and actions must give way to positive signals, understanding, and conciliatory efforts.

Was is and always has been fueled by economics and idealism.

the only way to put an end to war is to get rid of the ISMs and the Religions, redistribute the wealth and the food and the medicines.

Make large business pay its proper tax and cetralise the government., then maybe the world can move on.
