some people stop trying to be creative because of laziness... imagination takes a bit of effort. why be imaginative when all we have to do is sit back and enjoy the results of other peoples' imagination?
but it can go the other way, too. some build on the work that others have started. for instance, think of the movie industry and the leaps it has taken in the last decade. but it had to start somewhere, with silent movies, then talkies, then color, digital, CG, etc.
point is, there will always be new tools to help us be imaginative and there will always be things that hinder. it's ultimately an individual choice. so choose to be active and help others use their imagination... i imagine that's what got you using this site in the first place.

People tranquilize themselves constantly with music, tv, talking, chatting, internet, etc. If they just set everything aside for a couple of weeks and started staring at the walls then their imagination will automatically kick in. I think about things while I'm running, working out, etc.

Idiocy and ignorance. Trust me, television and the internet only help those who are capable of growing a useful mind in the first place.

School, work, life. People are too busy to have an imagination now a days. we have to work to pay things off, but then again that doesn't mean that we need to stop having fun once in awhile.

It has become corrupted by the things that they see.....
Imagination is limited to sight.....
Imagination is unlimited.......
If imagination is influenced by sight, then it is certainly limited........ it is how it is in society today that we need sight in order to believe in what we see..... and so we lose our unlimited abillity to see beyond the natural.......
But, when we let go of worldly ideals, we cannot be limited...... Close your eyes and free your mind... and I tell you that no one can limit the things you can create......!!!

Ginger

hello :)
we don't use them as much because tv, movies, and even music are thoughtless, we just sit, watch and listen. there is no mental growth in that. (:
