Why is it these child sponsorship commercials only feature African children, never kids from anywhere else?

I rarely see kids from India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, etc.

I want to know why we cant adopt the ones in all those orphaniges that they show. Only the ultra rich and famous are good enough to do that. I figure just about the poorest folk over here in the united states would be more able to support a familyless child than the way they have to live in their home countries!
Oh yeah. There are starving children in America!

There are only some reputable organizations first of all.

Of those, they have limited resources. This includes the ability to enter a country and organize the things to ensure the food- clothing- buildings-medication can reach the people. Some countries want this help, others make it difficult and dangerous.

There are many other countries that have assistance: Poland, Haiti, Belize.......

there was this scam in the early '90's where they showed young african american actors in local city dumps. the money was pocketed by the founder. maybe it's a scam. we all know the money doesn't get to those children. the country's corrupt government takes it all.

THATS VERY TRUE . BUT THE ABOVE MENTIONED COUNTRIES ARE ALL DEVELOPING ONES. AFRICA IS NOT DEVELOPING. INDIAS GDP RATE IS 10.8%/YEAR WHERE AS THAT OF USA IS 3.8%/YEAR.LIFE CONDITIONS IN INDIA IS IMPROVING POVERTY HAS REDUCED FRM 48% TO 18.9% IN THE PAST TWO DECADES HERE IN INDIA. PEOPLE THINK WE ARE BACK ONLY BECAUSE WE LACK IN INFRASTRUCTURE. BUT LET ME TELL YOU PEOPLE IN INDIA ARE RICH. NOT ALL BUT MOST OF THEM.
