When you say maniscus tendon I think you are actually refering to your meniscus cartilege.

Now, there are many different protocols for ACLr. As I understand, some doctors have the patients non weight bearing for some time, while others have the patients bearing weight immediately following surgery while in their brace.

However, meniscus repairs generally follow a different protocol. When you say you got it repaired, I will assume you actually had it stitched back together, not removed. The repair takes quite some time to heal. If you are weight bearing too quickly, you will tear the repair.

General protocol is NWB (non weight bearing) with knee locked at 0 degrees for around 3 weeks and then another 3 weeks in the locked brace without crutches. After that, you will (by most protocols) allowed to start walking without the brace. However, your muscle will have atrophied, and it could take a long while before your are walking normally. Best estimates are 2-3 months, but you could be shorter or longer depending on many factors.

Hey, You should be getting around to walking with a huge limp right about now. That's how long my doctor let me use crutches. After that, they kept encouraging me to walk "normally" just don't over do it. That's the key here. Don't rush yourself, but don't fall into the "I'm still injured" phase either. Just do what your Physical Therapist tells you to do and all will be well. Ur still in for a tough ride man. Just wade it out, you'll be back to doin what you were doin in no time! :)
