I would like to guess on average at LEAST once a week. The average married couple is well out of college or at a steady full time job. Has bills to pay errands to fun and for some children to take care of. As a college student I don't know how people do it, I'm busy enough with school.

There is no such thing as "normal." Weeks that are less hectic tend to offer more chances for sex whereas weeks like this past one trying to get ready for Christmas with relatives in town and three children tend to leave little time or energy for sex. I think it also depends on the ages of children and the number of children, if both husband & wife work, if both share household chores ,etc. There are so many factors involved. My husband has asked me repeatedly why we don't have sex as much as we did when we were dating. Considering we've added 3 kids to the equation and moved from a 900 sq. ft. house to a 5,000 sq. ft. house and I'm solely responsible for keeping it clean I can't understand why it's that difficult to figure out OR why he keeps asking. It's the same answer every time. The carefree days or sex whenever and wherever were fun but they are LONG GONE!

The answer to this would depend on the indiviual couple and on how long they have been married. So more information is needed to answer properly. I don't think that there is a rule that has to be gone by though, as imagine if there was a standards guideline brochure stating how many times a week a couple should do it.

I think it is up to the couple and that there is no such thing as "normal". Sex isn't a contest. No one keeps score (except those who aren't getting any). If you are in a marriage and you aren't getting what you want/need, then you need to communicate and find out what the problem is, then work together to solve the problem.

The big misunderstanding about sex and married couples is that it is not "scoring". It is sharing of intimacy with the one you love. When the intimacy leaves, and is replaced by "scoring", the relationship begins to die.

After Kids & 5 years of marriage your husband will not see you also. He will sleep on one side in Bed. So grab the opprojunites as possibles NOW !

Let's get real here. Marriage ruins lovemaking. Have a kid or two or three and consider the last kid's conception as the end. Then it becomes sex which isn't sey at all but another chore to do around the house. And we all know how much we dislike chores. How many weeks since our last sex should be the question.

I'm single, but serious. We do it (make love, we don't just have sex) almost every morning and night we're togeter. So it's about eight times for us, for about half an hour to a couple of hours a session. I don't always get mine, but I make sure she gets hers. She can get mulitple, so she gets hers about three to ten times a session. I hope I'm not being too detailed.
I think it keeps the spark lit.
