call your dr. many offices will at least let you come in and take one of their in office tests and will draw blood to check your hcg levels. you don't have to see the dr for this, just the lab nurse. if your dr won't allow this, i would find another dr's office. but dear a positive is a positive. if your hcg levels are low because you are newly preggers, if you took the tests one right after the other the urine could have diluted out the correct amount of hcg to register a positive. i believe with pregnancy tests there are no false positives only false negatives. i would also try another test first thing in the morning. no matter best of luck to you.
as for the person being so hateful about reading instructions. may you never have to wait 5 years to conceive, or maybe you should. be in someone else's shoes.

I was told by a nurse who was a friend that [and I am not saying this is accurate, only that I was told this] if a pregnancy test says 'negative' you may or may not be pregnant, but if is is positive, then you are pregnant. With my first one the first test said negative and the second positive, and I was. I am not trying to build false hope here - I know you have been trying for 5 years and this waiting is really hard on you.

Go to http://www.peeonastick.com to read more about this and good luck
took several tests and got both negatives and positives. What gives? there are many variables-- concentration of urine, sensitivity of the test. Since true false positives are pretty rare, if you get at least one positive HPT, you are probably pregnant. Wait a couple of days and test again or try another brand if you are suspect. If you suspect you have a true false positive (meaning you did not conceive and still got a positive), please share with us so we can let other women know about that brand!

like others said before, it could be good news. If you can wait, then the more time you "give it to cook" then the easier it will be to tell you yes/no from the test.
But if you are truly stressed out, then call your MD. I am sure he/she will let you go in for a blood test and find out, especially if you have been trying for 5 years.
Thinking happy thoughts your way!

Yes it has with my last child. I took 3 tests all were negative. I had to go to the doctor and have her draw blood to make sure.
