I would start the team in New Jersey, because New Jersey is the state that I live in, and is one of the only states without a baseball team.

I would name the team the New Jersey Jokers. This would be a very interesting name, since Jokers and Jersey both start with the letter "J."

The superstars that I would atleast TRY to get would be Albert Pujols, Chone Figgins, and Victor Martinez. I would try to get more, but all the good superstars wouldn't come to my team.

My baseball stadium would be called "The Meadowlands." This is an already made name of a place in New Jersey in East Rutherford. This place is home to the Jets, Giants, Devils, Nets, and more. This is where my stadium would be built.

Everything about my team would be unique. The location, the team name, and probably even the players on the team.

I would have my team in the AL East, because there are too many teams in the NL East, to compete with. Even though the Yankees might win it every year, we could slip through the Wild Card spot. Also, I like the American League better, because the pitchers don't have to bat.

First, let me advise the others here that Major League Baseball would not allow you to put your team in Las Vegas because Vegas allows betting on baseball games.

I would look at San Antonio, Charlotte or New Jersey as possible locations. Being from New Jersey, I would want to put my team here and name them the Knights. New Jersey is a denseley populated state, the Yankees and Mets are expensive and a pain to get to (especially Shea). New Jersey has never had an organic team, given that, I beleive they would support a team born in New Jersey.

The first person I'd go after would be Buck Showalter. He did a great job with the developing Yankees of the mid 1990's, he did a great job building the Arizona Diamondbacks. Texas is baseball hell. I would spend a lot of money on my scouts. Players come and go, being able to assess talent is crucial.

I would do everything I could to avoid selling naming rights to my stadium. I hate when the same stadium changes names (Pac Bell Park, AT&T Park, what next?) The Jersey Coliseum has a nice ring to it.

My stadium would be geared for baseball. I would not have obnoxiously loud music playing during every stoppage of play. There would be no roof, retractable or otherwise.

As an oldtimer among all you youngsters out there, I would RE-create a team known as the Brooklyn Dodgers. The team would of course play in Brooklyn, in a ballpark called Ebbets Field. (The L.A. National League franchise could give up its current nickname for anything else it chose - Angels? - or keep the present name if it still wanted it, which would not bother me.) Having three teams in New York City would merely restore the arrangement that existed until 1957. Put the team in the same division as the Mets so that they could play each other 19 times. For details on how to bring about the foregoing, see a novel titled "The Man Who Brought the Dodgers Back to Brooklyn" by David Ritz.
These proposals may not be at all practical, but the question didn't say they had to be. Oldtimers would be made happy by any sincere efforts in this direction.

My AL West team would be located in San Antonio, TX, one of the largest cities in the US who not only doesn't have a pro football team, but no baseball team. It has a large population base that makes it very popular for a baseball franchise. It would be a natural fit for the AL West because of competition with the Rangers, and other west teams.

I wouldn't play in the Alamodome. I would name my team the San Antonio Fire because of the hot summers, hot food, hot senioritas. The name of the stadium would be named after a sponsor, most likely Frito-Lay Riverwalk Stadium. It would be an open air stadium, seating 70,000, with added attractions such as a water park one end of the stadium so fans could keep cool on those hot, steamy days and nights. I would also build it in proximity to the riverwalk so fans could use riverboats as transportation to and from the stadium.

How in the world could I get all the top stars in the game for my team? Seriously that's not do'able like the other "managers" suggest. I would spend whatever it took to get 3 players of tremendous quality: Albert Pujols, Vladimir Guerrero, and Ivan Rodriguez. These players have extremely positive images with the hispanic community, the community of San Antonio is largely hispanic, and they could strongly relate to these three great players in a human sense and a baseball sense. As for a pitcher, I would try to get Barry Zito, based on today's market. He's a winner and a good team player. I would build my team around these four players; all winners in their own right, good leaders, and positive role models. I would then ask Nolan Ryan, a Texas icon, to become my manager, and would pay his price without question. With his leadership and that of the players, I believe it would be easier to establish a good, solid team on which to build for the future.

My team's uniforms would be burnt orange, red, and yellow home jerseys, with burnt orange shirts for away games. Pants would be white.

Id start it anywhere but the AL East, probably somewhere in the NL, altho im not sure you get to choose that, but the NL is the weaker conference, which is suprising, because if im not mistaken the cardinals are from the NL but, then again they are only one team. The first guys Id take would be Mo Rivera, Derek Jeter, Ichiro Suzuki, Albert Pujols and somebody to hit behind him,

Hows this for murders row,
1-Ichiro(always on base good fast hard runner)
2-Jeter (rbi man, always on base good all around hitter, fast
3-Jonny Damon(showed good power this year, fast, can hit for average as well good obp)
4 and 5 Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard depending on who is hot at the moment.

thats a killer murderers row except for you have to convince one of them to move to right field because NL has no DH and they both play 1st. doesnt matter whose after those guys, that lineup could win games alone. and just to round it out, Fransico Liriano because he is by far the best young pitcher in the game and has the most good years ahead of him. Also Wang from the Yankees. the man is an inning eater without running up the pitch count because he is good at inducing ground balls, save wear and tear on the bull pen.

For Location I'd probably start it in charlotte, nashville or somewhere in Kentucky because that Carolinas Tennesee, Kentucky are doesnt really have a local team and in a city at least the size of charlotte you would get decent attendance and alot from tv and parephenalia being the only team in the area.

-Las Vegas Ace's
-Being in Vegas the highest bidder to help build the stadium would get there name on the building (i.e. - Microsoft Field)
-I would try to get a lot of offensive players (trying to get tourists to come to games it has to be exciting, and most people in America love the long ball and lot's of runs scoring, so that is a way to attract fans that are on vacation)
