My current favorite is Michael Connelly. I have also enjoyed reading Patricia Cornwell. But, I'd like to explore new options. Recommendations?

Walter Mosely wrote a series of books sets in 1940s Watts that follows a PI named Easy Rawlins. They are really, really good, and deal not only with crime, but also reflect the racial issues of the time. "Devil in a Blue Dress" is a good one to start with.

James Lee Burke is my personal favorite. If you are into the supernatural, the Harry Dresden series of books are good, too.

I love Robert Crais--his books are great (and he's good looking, too). Janet Evanovich's books are about as funny as they come. Andrew Vacchs--a view from the other side, sorta. And don't forget to check out the "Dexter" books--a "good" serial killer!
