You can drive to Lake Tahoe which is only about 3 hours away from SF and you can have all the snow you want...or at least there is. Have fun!

There is no snow in San Francisco but you can take a bus such as greyhound, marin airporter, etc. to lake tahoe it's about 2 and a half to three hours away. It's really nice

About 2 hours east.
Any number of destinations, from Lake Tahoe to a roadside stop.
Check out a map, and any decent size road, that goes east, will take you into the snow.

Tahoe 2 hours??? not close. Try more like 4, especially with snow on the roads. Tahoe is one good option. Higher elevations in Yosemite ( e.g. Badger pass, Wawona) is a pretty option too. Have fun!

From the north Bay area, Tahoe is 4-5 hours easy. But's it's pretty and a lot of fun.
