rubberbands
old broom handle
clothes pins

break the broom handle into 1 piece that is 2ft and a 1ft piece.
cut a notch into the longer one about 6 inchs from the end to place the shorter ein into.
use the rubberbands to fasten the clothespin to the long piece away from the short piece, facing the short piece. the rubberbands should go over the top of the front end of clothespin and the bottom of the back end,
Stretch the leftover rubberbands over the short pole and back to the clothespin and clasp them in.
when ready, point away from people, animals and expensive items and press the back of the clothespin.

Good luck and be safe.
