...a plant that grows fast (no more than a month) and does well in the winter. Im not looking for a rare plant i could only find in such-and-such forest, but just one i could go to, say HomeDepot, and simply buy it there. Help me out PLEASE!

Spider plants are great indoors, they grow fast, require watering, but not much else, and are good for you! They clean the air! Just like little dust mops for the poisons in the air!
Also, they grow 'babies', little offshoots, that have little roots and leaves. when they mature (which take almost no time) you can pick them from the mother plant and give them as gifts to people you care about!
There are at least 2 different types, one is a solid green an one is striped. I like the striped ones better, they seem to grow faster, and add a lightness to the room they're in.

Most plants and trees stop growing in the cold winter. for plants vegetables are your best bet in January, for trees citrus trees r your best bet also in January.

Try turnips. The deer hunters grow them in winter for the deer.

try philodendrons or ivy.

those are both easy and don't need much care.

or a peace lily...those a re bigger though.

i would go with ivy.
