by popular clothing i mean such as american eagle oh and if you have a link to some guys showing an example of this please tell me...thanks in advance

According to Stacey and Clinton from the TLC show What Not To Wear, the sleeve stitching is suppose to fit at the bottom of the shoulder. The only way to tell if it fits is by trying it on and don't be embarrassed if you are a small or medium. For some reason men think that they have to wear shirts in a size large...I don't get it.

Usually the shoulder stitchings... go on your shoulder.
Most shirts should look fine and rest on your shoulder without looking weird. So technically, there is no 'right way'. It's just the natural way the shirt hangs and stuff.
