It should not, and it never will be. Only for medical purposes.

Not only marijuana, but all drugs should be legal. It can be proven economically that prohibition of any substance by arbitrary government statute leads to black markets, which leads to violent crime. Our society has suffered much damage due to the government's "war on drugs". The only real purpose for this war is to maintain the "criminal justice industrial complex". That is the complex of cops, lawyers, judges, courts and prisons that all feed on this war and bilk the society of money without actually producing anything of any value. They do not even produce security, as prohibition creates more violent crime, it does not prevent it. the only security this "war" creates is job security for those groups I mentioned before.

Why not oxcycotin is legal and all it is is synthetic Heroin, produced by our government and there are now more people addicted to this drug then Heroin it's self. Not to mention all of the "dope" that these Dr.s push. I live in Pennsylvania and if you look at the DEA web site you will see that we are in the top 10 for "Oxy" abuse. How many people do you know are physically addicted to "pot"! How many people do you know that have thrown their lives down the drain for pot? I know many people that smoke weed and they are not addicted, they are not idiots, hell some are people in very high positions. It is all about being responsible. Cocaine, Heroin and Pharmaceuticals are the most abused drugs on the street, not POT.

There is a wide variety of information available now about both legal and illegal drugs. If marijuana and other so-called illegal drugs were to be legalized, it is my personal suspicion that the crime rate in this country would go down substantially, especially if there was a legitimate marketplace for people to purchase and distribute such drugs. Legal competition would also lower the prices on such products, and those who use profits from the drug trade to further promote illegal activities would be hard-pressed to continue those illegal activities without the exhorbitant markup rates they currently can receive on illegal drugs. Also, law enforcement can better serve the communities they work within by being there to protect people from dangerous criminals rather than from poor personal decisions.

i think it should be legal and taxed appropiatly for treatmant programs after this wars im sure we can use some tax relief , but im a believer in legalizing most drugs to fund treatment not because im a user but because id love to watch the crime rate dissappear . i think the murder rate would be cut in half if you get crack off the streets and kids off the corners . although alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs its available and i think their is many other drugs like alcohol that causes people to act so irradically . but the truth is they make more money letting it in the country and busting people for using any of it . that it shocks me that california has taken the lead on the marijuana issue esp as health conscience as people in california are

Only for medical purposes not rec use.
This "harmless plant" destroyed my marriage and is destroying my friend's marriage because our significant others would rather smoke this "non-addictive plant" than pay the bills when we were on deployment.
I had a girlfriend that killed herself after smoking this "harmless plant".
A friend of mine committed suicide because he couldn't get his parents to bring him his stash of this "harmless plant".
My brother spent half of his life in prison because of acts he committed in order to get this "harmless plant."
My cousin lost custody of her child because she was more concerned about getting this "harmless plant" than she was about her own daughter.
My older brother admitted that his heroin addiction started because he was no longer getting the same high he got the first time he used this "harmless plant."
I can keep going on and on, but I'm depressing myself.
And if you don't like what I'm saying, than that's your problem. I'm just cutting through the b.s. and telling you how it is. And if you have a problem with reality, then that is your problem and I suggest you get help for it.
The ONLY good thing I saw was when my friend was undergoing chemo for leukemia.

it should be legal,, i believe the only reason its not is because it would be to hard for the goverment to make there money off of the sale of it ,,anyone can grow a seed , all you do is water it ,,i know someone who gets legal goverment pot pills,, they cost almost 4,000$ a month for 60 pills,, as long as THE MAN CAN PROFIT OFF THE SALES HE IS HAPPY, BUT IF THEY LEGALIZED IT HE WOULDN'T MAKE THAT CUSHY 4,000 A MONTH,, ITS CUTTING INTO HIS POCKET CASH , mabe if they did legalize it ,, we wouldnt have so many aneroxic ppls in the world,,

Who would hire you? Not me. I have a drug screen when you are hired in and randomly each month. I get discounts on my insurance because of this. The drug screen process prevents my employees from getting injured from someone high and prevents me from getting sued because of their carelessness from being high. Even if they legalize it, there will still be drug testing in the work place. The reason medical marijuana is not legal is because of you recreational users.
