YES!
Speaking from someone one who would be using it in a heartbeat.
I am 42 years old.
I have had 2 strokes, been in ICU to many times to count & numerous hospital stays.
I have Pulmonary Veno Occlusive Disease (I am currently waiting on a lung transplant), Severe Asthma, Rhumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, FibroMyalgia, High Blood Pressure, Diebeties (due to prolonged steroid use for my lungs) & numerous other health problems.
I am currently on 18 daily meds & 10 as needed meds, including several shots daily.
I spent from July 05 -Jan 06 in the hospital, mostly in ICU.
It is a hardship on my hubby, kids, Mom & other family.
I know they love me but I feel that I am a burden.
Usually being outgoing, active, independent being bedridden & hospital bed bound is EXTREMELY hard on everyone.
My days consist of pain, pain & more pain.
My poor hubby has to do 99.9% of my daily needs & is a real trooper but I know he is doing what he has to do to make my last days comfortable.
I suppose it takes a brave person to commit suicide cause I am too chicken.
Besides I know the act would not be covered by insurance & therefore w/o my life insurance it would only cause further financial difficulties to my loved ones.
But at my lowest times I certainly wish for Dr. Kavorkian (?sp).
So speaking from a different view point YES it should be legal.

In severe cases where someone is terminally ill and the person is in alot of suffering, then I believe in assisted suicide.

i could say no, yet while it replaced into to grow to be criminal, it may be pretty regulated. in basic terms terminally sick people who've been given 6 months or much less to stay via a minimum of two docs. additionally the healthcare expert helping with the suicide won't be able to have been in touch in any way with the prognosis.

I believe if we put dogs and cats down for no reason then If someone know's they are gonna die (within 6 months ) they should have the RIGHT to end things sooner without pain !

Why not? If assisted murder is allowed (abortion) why not let people help other people commit suicide. Hell, let's just legalize murder all together!

some disease progression is devastating...cancer,MS,lou gehrig's ,major strokes, irreversible brain damage.I believe doctor assisted suicide should be legal. We put animals to "sleep" so that they do not suffer but we let humans suffer.

no it shouldn't be legal. why??? it is the gov'ts way of determining who is valuable enought to live or not. well, you're gonna die anyways so lets just get it over with now..." it's crap.
might as well kill all the autistic ppeople and people who are paralyzed and people who are in poverty in africa with aids, and on and on and on, etc etc.
every life is valuable...no matter what are flawed emotions tell us.
and i f i remember correctly , christ didn't say o well lets just ease their suffering and let them die .. he healed them and told peope to pray!
anyone who doesn't elieve in miracles is blind...and this goes for self hating suicidal people as well.

Yup. It should be legal so it can be more controlled. If a healthy person can kill themselves why can't we give that chance to someone who is too sick to do it?
