it's ok. IE6 is just a browsing software. As far as I know no Microsoft products are dependent on the IE6. And since you can set up your default browser, it will not harm your computer. So go on. However, just as the other says, you can't have updates that require an internet browser. But do you need updates?

no it wont but some windows updates require you to have IE6, so down the road when you may want to install a specific program it might ask you to have IE6 installed as a requirement to run that program.

Yes you can remove it. but I would keep it so you can run "windows update" just do not use it ...I have firefox too and it is no better then IE6 or 7 in my opinion but I do use firefox in the ...unknown zones....i go sometimes

Don't even try to remove IE-6! It is an intergral part of Windows OS and cannot be totally uninstalled without hosing your entire operating system.

It won't harm y'r comp. but don't uninstall IE 6 becz u need tht to, update y'r computer and if u want to download some other microsoft software from microsoft.com
