I was SO overwhelmed this Christmas--with 3 Christmas parties to plan for my classes, rehearsal and helping with the school program, decorating the stage, making gifts for the parents, on and on....(and I'm a girl Scout Leader on top of that!)
Then, when I thought I was ready to throw myself off the roof...someone came to me and said a coworker's little girl would have no Christmas if we didn't do something. I couldn't stand the thought of that, so I went to Walmart at midnight and went shopping. Gathered a few benefactors and they helped pay for it, and we had a table full of goodies.
That was my last good intention, and it made me realize that feeling sorry for myself was ridiculous, because I was capable of taking care of myself and didn't have to worry like she did.
Humility can be a wonderful thing, sometimes...

Asphyxiated it, bludgeoned it, drug it behind a car for ten miles, and then wrapped it in Saran wrap and put it in the freezer. Needless to say, I don't do those so well.
