If you are asking about the status of your home ownership, then this is the answer for you. If it is another matter, then I don't understand your question.

The county tax collector in your county can look up the official record of home ownership via the tax rolls. It can be done by phone. Just give your home address; they'll look it up while you wait unless you live in a major city. Ask them to verify that the taxes are paid up to date.

If this does not suit you, go the county clerk's office and ask for help looking up the deed wherein you got your home; also ask for the mortgage document (recorded in a different volume). Copies for available for about $1 a page.

If you are looking for an old survey of your lot or farm, simply call around to area surveyors and ask them if they did a previous survey. They too keep excellent records. If they did do a survey on your land, you can usually obtain a "certification" or "authentication" for a much smaller fee than a new survey.
