We aren't the best country because we have the lowest infant mortality rate, the longest live expectancy, the best health care, the best quality of life for the average citizen, or the most fair and honest elections.
It is rather good for some of us who make lots of money. I threw away more food today cleaning off the dinner table than many people eat in a week. I took some pictures of the kitchen counter, the abundance was amazing.
We are extremely fortunate. Today was another thanksgiving day for me.
It should be expected that those who are less fortunate in most of the world would like to share in our good fortune.
It is also human nature (and primate nature) to hoard our good fortune.

Is it?
It is for the fortunate ones...
But ask the 40% of people living on the poverty line in America if they feel like they live in the best country in the world...
Ask the people with no medical insurance if they feel lucky...
Countries like Australia, France and England do a heck of a lot more for their people than the USA does. The USA is a materialistic country... not a people country. It has very little regard for life. Life is expendable as a mean to get the job done.

well thats a horrid thought. im a non american and i dont think america is the best country. Im thinking britain.
america is currently failing in terms of revenue. i live in Singapore. in the beginning of the year, 1 sing. dollar equalled to 1.68 american dollars. and now, its 1.50 american dollars. its dropping.
secondly, the americans have very silly school systems-they get a LOT of holidays and get TOO much freedom. also, there are not many national assessments. in singapore, we take the Primary School Leaving Exam at 12!! in india the 10th standard exam is at 14! but in America, nope!
then look at the high schools. people go around trash canning people and stuffing their heads into toilets. if that is what they call bullying then im renouncing the world.
now look at the movies and the musicals. the movies are VERY violent. i mean that isnt bad, but they also have VERY DISGUSTING content. u noe what i mean.
and for the musicals, they arent really of a very good quality. maybe except for the classics but the real goodness comes from britain. look at the literature pieces too. they arent comparable to real english literature.
im not really saying that america is bad. even singapore is horrid. the english is horrid here. what i mean is that britain and even canada are what i call the 'best' countries. america would come 5th or 6th on my list.
im not being racist or anything. im sorry if ive been a little too harsh.

the USA is awesome!!!! yeah we're still a young country but we have good ideas. we have freedoms that no one can take from us and if anyone tries we can fight for our rights. you can do anything you want to if you try hard enough. it doesn't matter who you are don't give up and your hard work pays off. everyone has the chance to become something. even if not everyone believes we're all equal we are working on becoming equal. that is the only way we'll stay strong. separated we will fall.

For me simply because we have freedom of religion and freedom of speech and the list goes on and on. We are free to do as we please as long as we do lawfully. So many of our people when they go to other countries and see the evil that is there when they return they fall down on their faces and kiss the ground here. We know it,the world knows it and anyone who has been around very long knows it is a sweet place to live. And iceing on the cake is we are going to even a better place if we are in Christ waiting for His coming.

I am free.
I have rights.
If a government official does something to me that I feel is not right, I have the ability to take that official to court.
There are other great countries in the world, but I would not live in any other one.
P.S.--thank you for saying such nice things about my country.

To me, the USA is where the Simpsons, MTV, the Mustang, cowboys, hot dogs, and Vogue originated.
