I want to turn off that start-up "dunnnnnnnnn" on my lovely Macbook, I am so tired of hearing it everytime I turn on my laptop. Sometimes I forget to turn down the sound before I shut it off, so the next time I turn it on, it makes that annoying and loud sound, and alerts everyone. It isn't exactly wonderful, especially when I'm in a quiet classroom or library. So is there an option that allows me to kill the sound?

my best friend has a mac so i asked her about it and she said the salesman disabled the sound for her when she bought it. Sais that it was under your sound settings, and then under the start up sounds, or so she thought but wasn't definitely for sure since she didn't disable it herself.

No i dont think there is a way to disable it, you have to mute before you shutdown/restart.
