ok, so right now, i live in southern california. i am soon moving to the DC area, and i don't know what to wear when i am going to visit schools. the weather is going to be 40 degrees-ish, possibly raining. i don't need "budget fashionista" help, i just have utterly no clue how to be fashionable in cold weather. are coats appropriate in 40 degree weather? boots? what do you wear in the rain??? how many coats should i bring? popular coat designers? anyone?
thank you for your time :)

okay in a 40 degree weather yes wear coats, if you want you can wear boots, wear stylish boots tho not like big clunker boots you wear in the rain and you can wear anything in the rain except like suede boots or coat in the rain, you should have at least one coat just depends how stylish you are but bring 1-3 coatsd just in case but you really dont need it, but i hope this helps, and in washington you will see what people wear so just go shopping when you get there, my friend she came from cali to georgia and the weather is different she came to our school and she saw more and more and she just goes shopping here for the weather,MERRY CHRISTMAS

before i moved to london, i lived in DC for four years. if it does rain, it wont rain much. it'll probably start snowing, or worse, hailing. bring two coats at the most. the long wrap-around coats are the best. a thick scarf, preferably cashmere, it'll keep you warmer. a pair of boots would be fine, as long as their not hiking boots, if you know what i mean. not above three inches, or you'll look like your trying too hard. wear only dark-wash jeans, if you are wearing jeans at all. a hat shouldnt be necessary but if you so wish, just a simple gray or black cap should suffice. bring a small fold-up umbrella in your bag, just in case though. good luck.

No rain boots. Rain boots are undesirable. Baaaad. you're footwear could get a tad moist, yet suck it up. anybody else does. Pants could be sturdy, with in line with threat a t-shirt and a sweater. you do no longer surely desire a cumbersome jacket for 40 degree climate. maximum folk would be working around in sweaters and sweatshirts. Scarves are constantly beautiful too, so positioned on certainly one of those with a sweater, some denims, and a advantageous shirt. known heels, or sneaks (regardless of your determination) will do exactly advantageous. =D
